Elf on the Shelf Breakfast Ideas

Elves LOVE sugar! Just like the movie, Elf on the Shelf loves candy, chocolate and of course maple syrup. Put that all together and it’s breakfast! It’s also easy to get it ready and set out for the morning when the kids come down. All the kids go to the kitchen for breakfast and it’s the first place they go to, so the elf is the first thing they see. I’d like to say all these ideas are mine… but nope! I wrote about before about having kids with ADHD/Anxiety and having an elf on the shelf. So my mornings are thrown together last minute, it can become frustrating.

Thankfully, I have a friend Kathryn who has amazing creativity and pulls them off flawlessly. I’ve written about Kathryn’s amazing Elf skills before and one thing that always got my attention was her breakfasts. Every year there is always one breakfast and I have to say that I wake up in December looking forward to seeing what her elf has gotten up to.

Here are some of the best breakfast ideas.

Fill yer boots

This is easy to do, all you need is some sugary cereal. Kathryn grabbed some of the elf on the shelf cereal at Wal-Mart. No matter how hard I looked I couldn’t find it and I wasn’t about to pay $23 for a box of Elf on the Shelf cereal on amazon! You can do this with any sugary cereal your kids love. Luckily my kids are younger too so their shoes are smaller and it doesn’t require as much cereal to fill their boots!

Help Decorate

Elves love sugar! This is a great way to let your kids have their favorite sugary cereal and they can help make decorations too!

Elves love sugar… so of course more cereal

Elf on the Shelf

Kids love cereal. Most parents are like me and don’t let them eat too much of the sugary stuff. But since it’s close to the holidays and elves are sugar-addicted pranksters there’s usually something sugary every year.

This is a great way to tie in The Grinch whole Stole Christmas (book or movie) or if you are trying to keep your kids away from sugar, this is a great way to keep them eating healthy. The eyes can be made out of any almonds or peanuts and the hat can be found in most dollarstores, or stole of a toy snowman!
